Tau Ceti is a single star in the constellation Cetus. It is 11.9 lightyears from Sol. Tau Ceti is spectrally similar to Sol, with approximately 78% of the mass of Sol. Tau Ceti is a G-class star and can be seen with the unaided eye. Tau Ceti has at least 4 confirmed exoplanets and 4 additional unconfirmed exoplanets.

After Rylan Grace arrived in the Tau Ceti system, he has confirmed that one of these exoplanets orbiting Tau Ceti have an atmosphere made up primarily of Carbon Dioxide and is inhabited. Dr. Grace names this planet Adrian.
In addition to Astrophage, Tau Ceti appears to be home to a diverse biome of species, nearly none of which Dr. Grace explores owing to his need to find a solution to the "Astrophage Problem." The only other Tau Ceti life form that Dr. Grace studies is the Taumeoba.
